Columbia Access Television

Mike McMillen is the publisher of the Missouri Legislative Directory. He moved to Columbia in 1979 and went to work as Director of Public Affairs for Shelter Insurance Companies. When Shelter decided to put in an in-house TV production facility, Mike was chosen to set it up and manage it. Video players were put in state and regional offices and programs were mailed to them.

Mike co-founded and is the past-president of the Central Missouri Chapter of the Media Communications Association – International (formerly, the International Television Association or ITVA). He received the association’s Distinguished Service Award for having put together the Handbook of Forms, which is still in use today.

Mike has a passion for helping others and serves on the board of directors of the P.E.T. Project and the Columbia Senior Activity Center. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, barbecuing and tinkering in his shop.
